Cloned repo, opened in XCode, command-R > Build failed.

Disclaimer: I am not using the current version of XCode (my version is 11.3.1) because I cannot install the most up-to-date version (11.7) on MacOS 10.15 Beta. Does Sputnik only work with XCode 11.7?

Hi mroberts,

I couldn't find the minimum XCode version requirements for SwiftUI, but I think it should work with any version 11. I'm using 11.6 myself.

I just made a change to the way code signing works which another user found worked for him. It may work this time if you would like to try again.

Not sure if this helps, but I'm running Catalina 10.15.6, which kind of wandered off the beta train (I've been running Catalina betas on this laptop).

I just switched from the Xcode command-line tools to Xcode 11.7 from the App Store about a week or two ago. Everything's working OK for me, modulo the code-signing problem that @DealPete mentioned upthread (I'm the other user he mentioned).

I deleted the repo and recloned it and it works just fine now - very pretty too! Thanks for your help.

One last question - do I need to run it every time via XCode or will it work standalone? If via XCode, can it be exported?

Glad to hear that you got it working! Feel free to create some more issues if you have any suggestions for the app.

When you compile the app the binary goes to a special directory you can set in the Project Settings. If you look at the sidebar after compiling (make sure the far left icon is clicked), you'll notice that there's a "Products" folder with the Sputnik.app file inside. You can drag this file into the Finder or onto the Desktop to create a shortcut you can use when XCode is closed.
