I'm a Minecraft enthusiast from China, and I recently discovered SeedLight Riftways on Modrinth. I was immediately drawn to the idea behind the mod, especially the immersive way it allows players to travel between worlds and servers through an actual in-game Riftway. I think it's a really wonderful and creative concept.
In fact, I created this GitHub account specifically so that I could reach out to you about this project. :)
However, I noticed that the currently available version seems to be made for Fabric/Quilt and older Minecraft versions, while the modpack I'm working on is based on Forge 1.20.1.
It's currently summer break here in China, and recently I've been spending a lot of my free time working on my first Minecraft modpack, together with a friend. It's a magic-and-adventure themed modpack, and we're trying to make exploration, progression, bosses, different worlds, and other adventure elements feel more connected and immersive.
When I found SeedLight Riftways, I felt that its concept would fit this kind of experience extremely well, and I would really love to use it as part of the modpack to make exploration and world travel more interesting.
We have also taken some time to look through the source code and discuss the technical side of it. From what we can understand so far, we believe that making a Forge 1.20.1 port should be technically feasible.
Because of that, I wanted to respectfully ask for your opinion before we go any further.
If you're comfortable with it, we would like to create and maintain a community-maintained Forge 1.20.1 port of SeedLight Riftways. We would of course keep clear credit to you as the original author, follow the LGPL-3.0 license, and clearly state that our version is an unofficial community port rather than an official continuation of your project.
If I manage to complete the port successfully, I will let you know as soon as possible and tell you where I publish or share it within the Chinese Minecraft community. I would also be happy to send you the release page or source repository so that you can see how the project is being continued.
We also don't want to interfere with any plans you may already have for SeedLight Riftways. If you're planning to continue or port the mod yourself, we would absolutely respect that. And if there are any conditions, preferences, or guidelines you would like us to follow, we'd be very happy to hear them.
This is my first time seriously working on a Minecraft modpack project like this, so being able to include and potentially help continue a project that inspired me would honestly mean a lot.

我们最近也花了一些时间阅读和研究了项目的源代码，并讨论了一下相关的技术实现。从目前的理解来看，我们认为将它移植到 Forge 1.20.1 在技术上应该是可行的。
