your libxdg looks useful.
I just tried to clone and install it as described in your README (just using build.sh) and look into install subdirectory. Doc, update-applications-cache tool and headers are present and look OK, but there is no library file. There is a libxdg.a in build/src subdir.
It could be easier for users to have library installed. I think it is probably just a line somewhere but I am not a cmake user at all, I couldnt help you rapidly, sorry.
