A lot of Ratatui projects use vhs, but I recently heard a podcast about asciinema and it sounds like it might work well for this too.

I don't remember why I wanted to use asciinema rather than VHS but @joshka says a gif from VHS should work well, and it's easier to embed a gif in various places than a link to asciinema.

I like the ideal of asciinema, but the practicality of VHS and gifs wins me over every time as it just works.
