Event Chain: The Decommission Task Force #564

Description

@ViolentBeetle

(About 5 years too late to be making Murder Drones reference)

The event chain expands on Food Constructor lore, refer to ship designs from there
Additional idea for Reesan ships - give them unique strike craft called "Shredder swarm" that deals extra damage to shields. Might require nerfing their lasers. I honestly don't remember how their stats match up.

BSOD picture from Food Constructor diplo can be reused for the task force diplo too.

Jensen System

The event started in a misc solar system named Jensen. The system is random one-star class with a couple of non-habitable planets and a Tomb world moon orbiting a gas giant. A small fleet named Decommissioning Taskforce is guarding the system. They are using Reesan designs and flag (Might pick a different color)

When entering the system:

The [From.GetName] system is being guarded by fleet of heavily armed ships. The ships appear to be automatically broadcasting a warning signal on a loop

Diplo Event:

Alert! Travelling advisory is issued by Reesan Consumer Robotics. This system is currently off-limits for all ship traffic due to ongoing unsanctioned self-aware synthetics infestation. If you wish to request a permission for self passage through the system please contact Reesan Consumer Robotics consumer support.
Notice: Reesan Consumer Robotics Consumer Support is currently experiencing downtime since DATA NOT AVAILABLE. That is expected to be resolved in DATA NOT AVAILABLE
(There's no meaningful choices here)

The planet

The only planet of interest is the Tomb World. It contains a dig site, deposits including support for farms and "dangerous ruins" blockers that are removed by doing the dig. Flag it to keep events off (primitive_nuked_themselves used to be my goto option, don't know if it still works)
It might make sense to use Relic World instead of tomb to suppress terraforming, if blockers still get removed by it.

Dig Site: Broken and Abandoned

[Planet Name] once held a considerable population but now appears to be abandoned in the wake of a disaster of some kind. Ruined cities, strip mines and industrial zones still dot the moon's surface.

Dig site steps:

Mechanist Colony
Preliminary survey of the moon's surface suggests that it was settled to be a self-sustaining industrial and research world of some kind. A comparatively small contingent of organic settlers augmented their numbers considerably by purchasing robotic workers, who appear to be outnumbering their organic masters several times over.
Remains of both the settlers and robots can be found in every settlement we have explored so far. As far as we can tell, their demise was mostly sudden and mostly peaceful, however the robotic remains are only a fraction of what we expected to find based off robotic accommodations the colony has setup.
Some of the robotic debris contain identifiable "Reesan Consumer Robotics" branding.
Add modifier "Surviving mechanist architecture" that boosts robots somehow.

Cause of Death
We have identified the cause of the sudden colony collapse. It appears that irresponsible mining practices have destabilized the moon causing massive devastation that rendered it unable to sustain organic life.
The moon has since stabilised and the amount of bad practices, bad luck and even worse judgement that made such an accident possible is unlikely to be replicated anywhere.

Left Behind
We have found the missing robotic population. Or, to be precise, their remains.
It appears our original assumptions weren't entirely correct. While the organic settlers were indeed wiped out by the accident, the robotic workforce actually mostly outlived their masters.
After the initial disruption passed, the surviving robots attempted to reclaim the planet for themselves, rebuilding a society in a facsimile of their original owners. However, their control of the planet did not seem to last, as they were violently attacked by some kind of invasion force, their demolished remains now stashed in remote corners of the planet. The peaceful worker robot population was clearly no match for the invaders.

The Shelter
While exploring the moon further, we have found a bunker, used by the robots to hide from whoever or whatever was killing them.
This one appears to have been breached, its inhabitants violently disassembled and computer systems purged and destroyed. However, we have reasons to believe there could be other bunkers hidden elsewhere on the surface, although we do not know how to locate them at the moment.

Follow-up

The follow-up is scheduled 1-5 years later, as long as you own the system. You don't need to colonize the planet. I don't know if MTTH or just looped check would be better.

Strange Transmission
We've picked up a transmission originating somewhere on the surface of [Moon Name] using protocols similar to what the original inhabitant of the planet used. Due to atmospheric conditions and the unusual technology involved we can't pinpoint its origin at the moment.

Follow-up using diplo/leader even interface, showing robotic leader. Character this whole event is based off, for visual reference

Hello? Yes, you weird space people.
I noticed you digging through the ruins of our once great (Or, well, not so great as you probably figured out) civilization, and so I was wondering, is the decommissioning crew finally gone? Is it safe to go outside again? Would you like to meet maybe and sweep me away on some kind of grand space adventure I was meant to go on instead of rusting in this dump? Any chance?
Oh wait, I just realized I forgot to attach a receiver to this thing so I can't hear you. Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back.

After this event is concluded, 2 more Reesan fleets spawn at the edge of the system. Their hostility originally set to neutral.

A large fighting force has entered the [System Name]. We have to assume they have monitored the communications within the system somehow, hoping to find the robots hiding on the surface of [Get planet name].

Transmission

Attention unidentified squatters, this is the automatic decommissioning task force dispatched by Reesan Consumer Robotics.
The task force is being deployed to remove all unsanctioned self-aware proprietary synthetic life that is infesting [Moon Name]. Please do not interfere with the decommissioning process.
Please note that according to Reesan official policy on the squatter rights, there is is no squatter rights. Use of lethal force is authorized to prevent all interference with the decommissioning.
You will be further billed, expunged and/or negotiated settlement with in the follow-up visit from Reesan Consumer Robotics Legal Department. If you would like to expedite the process, you may contact Reesan Consumer Robotics Legal Department yourselves, using NO CONTACT METHOD AVAILABLE.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you do not intend to cooperate, please disregard this gratitude and say your prayers and/or reflect on your poor life choices instead.

You can agree to let them pass or refuse. Some ethics variants would be nice, to add flavor to cover their bases, ie xenophiles/pacifists might want to defend the robots xenophobes/militarists might get pissed someone is trying to invade their system.

If you agree, they remain neutral and move in to the planet. If they reach the planet, they apply 10% devastation, create a bunker ruins deposit that gives you some benefits (Alloy salvage?) and move to one of the planet in the system. They remain neutral for the rest of the game.

Diplo event:

Reesan Consumer Robotics thanks you for your cooperation and not obstructing the decommissioning. You have made the right choice.
Reesan Consumer Robotics Legal Department will be contacting you once connection is re-established to discuss the consequence of your presence in the Reesan-partnered system. Good luck and good bye and/or may your gods have mercy on your souls.

If you refuse, the fleets become hostile and move to bomb the moon. From there on there are following outcomes

They bombard the moon to certain fraction of devastation. The outcome is the same, except the fleets move away from the system and despawn afterward.

Reesan Consumer Robotics Decommissioning Taskforce has concluded the decommissioning on [Moon Name]. We regret any damage caused to your property due to your poor decisions and/or squatting in a Reesan-partnered system.
Reesan Consumer Robotics Legal Department will contact you with further information on how you can make up for your transgressions again Consumer Robotics, including squatting, unsanctioned synthetic sympathies and vandalism.
We wish you best of luck.

If they lost at least one ship, you then get a recruitment follow-up from the same robot leader, the specific template will be discussed below, but this version gets extra "traumatized" and "melancholic" traits.

Hello? Space people?
I know you tried to save us, but I think I'm the only one left. I'm sorry I got you into this mess, I didn't know they were listening.
May I come up and work for you now? It's not like there's anything for me left down there.

If the ships were destroyed, you get contacted by the same robot shortly after

Hello? Space people? Are you still there?
Are decommissioners actually gone? For real this time? You really killed them all, didn't you? Since I already talked to you, other robots kind of put me in charge of negotiating. Even though I'm not really a big negotiating type, but anyway.
So, since we can't really hide anymore, may we reclaim this planet or something? It was kind of our home before our creators tried to kill us all and everything.
Possible responsnse (With reply text)

No, this is our planet now (If you have a colony there)
You can, as our citizens (If you don't have a colony)
Oh well, there go all our hopes and dreams of forging our own destiny. Hope you guys don't turn out as murderous as our creators after everything is said and done. (The outcome spawns a robot species named Workerbot with some worker pop related traits)

You may have your planet (Not available if you have colony there)
You may, but we will guide you
Wow, thank you. I never actually had a chance to be in charge of my own life, being part of the post-decommissioning generation and all. This is so exciting! I didn't think asking nicely would actually work. Whenever we asked our creators for something back in a day, they would just install more punishment chips into us. (They become individualst machine Fanatic pacifist-materlist country. The first option makes them industrial age primitves with full awareness. The second makes them your vassal. If you have pops on the planet they become citizens too)

If you give them their own planet, some time later you get a leader recruitment event

Hello? Are you still there, space people?
So, anyway, thank you for giving us the planet but I think the folks back home starting to suspect I may have, inadvertedly, entirely by accident, for no fault of my own, not at all carelessly, entirely unforceably, revealed out bunker's location to the decommissioners.
And even though it is completely not my fault, I think you are planning something nasty for me. Like an exile. And it's not like I don't want to get away from here for good, but I don't like the idea of being forcing to. At all.
So, anyway, may I sign up to work for you or something? So I don't have to get exiled and spend the rest of my life in the wilderness, all along, contemplating my mistakes? Please?

If you agree, the leader you get is female robot scientist-scholar with carefree, adventurous spirits, and maybe a custom trait (My original idea was to have a system-wide effect that buffs military ships like that one slavager paragon, but I don't know if it's possible) named Ingram with age set to 19.

Additional note: Absent custom portrait, I think basic robot is the best fit, with Ingram herself using custom purple color scheme.
