I think that versioning is necessary in your beautiful application. I just noticed that if, for example, I forget to update the server part, that the updated client will work like hell. I think it would be nice if the Server contained a method for getting the current version, and the Client would check its relevance!
1.0, 1.1,1.2,.... is best tags/version labeling system.
