How to keep the light theme as the default one?

Hi, I am working on moving one of the QuantEcon's lecture series using mystmd stack and was wondering if there is an option to keep the light theme as the default and not the dark one?

The template.yml https://github.com/curvenote/quantecon-theme/blob/479d3def83bf504b405dd240ef65fdc9950b064e/template.yml could be extended to include an options key, see https://github.com/myst-templates/book-theme/blob/main/template.yml for inspiration.

One you have an option, you can pick up on this in code and influence the "theme" selection, thst takes place in the <Document /> (https://github.com/curvenote/quantecon-theme/blob/479d3def83bf504b405dd240ef65fdc9950b064e/app/root.tsx#L92) component and understanding that would require diving into the juptyer-book/myst-theme codebase to determine how to implement that behaviour, or potentially extend things there to allow it.

To add some context, the default theme in the base themes is taken from the system preferences, and thus is not dark for all users by default! In any case, I assume that this question is about forcibly setting light-mode by default. We have an issue tracking this somewhere, though I can't find it!

👍🏼 @agoose77 I think the system preference behaviour should be an opt-in, (I find it hugely annoying, personally) looking forward to chime into that issue if you find it :)

This is my bugbear, ha! @stevejpurves why not set your system default to light? My understanding is that the system theme query is predominantly useful for signalling user preference rather than changing user preference, i.e. "I prefer sites in light/dark" rather than "I want this site to update as I change my desktop theme"

@agoose77 (I fear we are digressing wrt this issue, We need a discussion issue somewhere for the "why") I did once that feature was introduced, now everything is light.
