BM64Recomp is crashing in my Linux Distro

Hi, i'm reporting a issue here with the 1.0 release that Recomp is crashing at opening the ROM file.

this only happens in the AppImage version, on the default binary build its starts perfectly.

Instant crash without any aditional log, just segmentation fault.

Issues on Winlator glibcmod, although I'd hope for a droid copy of this game but since Starship, Harkinian, 2harkinian, Perfect Dark, sm64plus all run fine in winlator I thought it worth mentioning, technically we wouldn't really need a droid port if the game didn't have draw and collision issues on winlator, probably other issues too because it crashes as well. I'd take either route though for sure. Tried a lot of good settings in Winlator pretty sure it's a no go for now.

I don't know if this issue was fixed, but my issue was solved, the game starts now, maybe it was related to a issue i had here that made lots of programs stopped working and I've solved it some days ago.

it was giving me this error executing many apps

Maximum number of clients reached
Error: Unable to open display at :0.

and it was solved after reading this post from kde forums, i had a program that was trying to self update occupying just a few bytes in ram replicated 247 times running in the background taking all clients, after solving this many apps even the graphics driver came back to life.

But on the game it got back and its working now, but since Bawkr reported here as well, not gonna close the issue.

Tested appimage and linux versions on cachy os modern as Gnome, crashes when I hit select rom. Possible the non app image version is missing dependencies wouldn't really know do not see a guide on that

There is a command to check which libraries (same as dll) are missing from executing in a binary, it's ldd so...

ldd /path/to/BM64Recompiled

knowing which are missing you search on the internet to know which package the libraries missing are from so you install from your distro package manager and naming.

yeah looking at this list, it looks you have all the libs necessary, have you tried opening BM64Recomp using the terminal instead of double clicking the app, doesn't the crash have any terminal log at all? take the results and share the log here, it will help the devs.

Looks like an issue with gnome or with my gnome version if I had to guess or gtk. Gnome 50.2 on Mutter Wayland. Result from terminal instead of righclick run;

My issue with gtk / gnome seems to be able to be bypassed by making the game portable.txt in dir and putting the rom that would generally be generated into a user location on windows, into the linux apps folder with the tar.gz release. not sure if it needed both of those steps but it automatically detected the rom without the need of hitting select rom when I did this. I added the portable and rom awhile ago guess I never actually tested the game after doing that.
