Clicking Play plays audio in Firefox, does not in Chrome

Sonerezh 1.2.6 (installed via latest.tar.gz)

On the same machine, attempting to play the same track, in Firefox the audio plays on clicking any play button on the interface, but in Chrome it does not.

• Chrome 81.0.4044.122 (Official Build) (64-bit)
• Firefox 75.0 (64-bit)
• Both running on MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 Beta (19F62f) (for what it's worth)

Developer console in Chrome displays this when clicking a Play button:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of null
    at HTMLSpanElement.<anonymous> (player-nav.js:140)
    at HTMLDivElement.dispatch (jquery-2.1.0.min.js:3)
    at HTMLDivElement.r.handle (jquery-2.1.0.min.js:3)

Can't see any equivalent Console output from Firefox
