How can I disable mouse4 exiting the mod menu?

I have a mod that has keybinds that only get shown in the mod menu instead of showing them to the vanilla keybinds menu. I want to use mouse4 for a keybind but everytime i try and do that the mod menu just goes back to the mods list. Is there a way I can disable it? I went through the mod menu's settings and I can't find anything related to it.

Version: 1.21.11

A workaround I found is to go into config and setting the keybind manually to "key.mouse.4"

I am thinking this is best reported to the other mod's authors. They might want to rethink how they are configuring their keybinds.
