SteamOS doesn’t use my dedicated GPU

Asus rog zephyrus g14. Ryzen 7 5800HS. Radeon Graphics 16gb of ram with 512 ssd. With nvidia 3060 dedicated graphics.

I installed SteamOs on ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401QM_GA401QM I have a dedicated GPU and an iGPU I only see steamOS reading the iGPU. Any idea how I can get my NVIDIA gpu to work? I went into a game and it doesn’t seem to use my dedicated gpu I also don’t see it in hardware information

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1.download steam os and format computer to run steam os
2. Check hardware info to see if it reports dedicated gpu.
3. Run a game and see it using the integrated GPU

Looks like you're on an old version of SteamOS.

Switch over to the main branch of updates. You want to be on SteamOS 3.10.

Update to SteamOS 3.10 and see if it works then please.

Just from the SteamOS Gaming Interface you can switch over to the main channel.

It might also work on Preview channel with SteamOS 3.9, but I'd say it's safer to just go to main channel with SteamOS 3.10

I don't have my computer with me right now to check the exact steps, but it's something like this:

1. Go to Settings > System.
2. Enable Developer Mode.
3. Navigate to the Developer section and enable Show Advanced Update Channels.
4. In the System Update Channel section, select Main.
5. In the Steam Client Update Channel section, select Beta.
6. Restart your SteamOS system to apply the changes.
