client freezes on switching or reopening window

Whenever i switch the client or minimise and reopen it , it freezes for a considerable amount of time. Have linked a video of same below.

I'm not able to reproduce this issue. Can you check if it still occurs, and if possible can you paste the logs for reference (View > Toggle developer tools > Console)
Also, can you share your system specifications.
Maybe its due to electron's high memory requirements ...?

I'm having the same issue on Windows. I grabbed a performance trace. Unfortunately, I can't export it due to electron/electron#39818, but here are some screenshots:

Right now I'm getting around this issue by cloning the repository and running npm install, npm start. Maybe it only affects the release.

We've been trying to replicate this issue since long time, I couldn't reproduce on my macOS system , even on linux other folks were not able to reproduce this.

Maybe this comment could help in some way ?

Seems this is windows specific problem. I can think of exploring two possible fixes -

• Disable GPU acceleration on windows as suggested in the above thread
  Ref. https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/api/app#appdisablehardwareacceleration

• Experiment by Forcing a repaint when window becomes visible again (Not sure if this could help, but worth experimenting)
  Ref. https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/api/browser-window#page-visibility

Also, since its happening with only release version, these approaches need to be tested by building release version locally & verifying the glitch doesn't happen with it

I don't have a windows system to test this tho, @AyanSinhaMahapatra / @pombredanne maybe someone from our team can try these approaches on windows machine ?

@OmkarPh this issue happens to me when I open a really big project (e.g. a project with all of its transitive dependencies vendored, hundreds of license detections) AND I use the same window for a while, say, an hour. Try that and see if it reproduces.
