I don't know what you suppose here. I was pretty set on making membership pretty exclusive but people voted against that in favor of a much more looser definition. I am fine with the loose definition, and I don't know how you would make it a little more exclusive without making it super exclusive. Note that member does not mean someone from the team.
As an example, a student run non for profit in Sydney literally allows anyone to join.
