As of python 3.10 distutils is no longer supported and is not in the distribution. I have cloned this project and build an updated package with setuptools, and it installs correctly in python 3.12. Testing output on a .docx document saved as “2007” spec was successful.
I would like to contribute the code changes and push another release. Please add me as a maintainer/contributor.
Required changes
- remove current build and package files
- Modify setup.py to conform to setuptools
- Update revision information
- Produce a new package and upload to pypi
