Compatibility with 0.16.0

0.16.0 is breaking :allthethings:. Lots of work to be done here... This will likely prevent fixes and releases for the time being. I think almost all the dependencies upstream are going to have breaking issues as well.

Update notes:

Mitigated issues for building for Linux and the Docker containers. Mac builds will remain broken until I can find a way to lock the build version to 0.15.0, which is currently not available since the build images are using homebrew, which is always at latest.
