FIT File Viewer & Repair Privacy Policy

FIT File Viewer & Repair (the “App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information and how you can manage related choices.
Before publication: replace the public Privacy Policy URL in this document with the real URL and publish the final policy on a publicly accessible HTTPS webpage. The policy must also be available in the Google Play store listing and within the App.
- Who We Are and Scope
The App is provided by Coobbi (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The Android package name is com.coobbi.fitfileviewer.
This Privacy Policy applies to information handled by the App. Third-party services process information under their own privacy policies, which are not replaced by this policy.
- Information We Handle
2.1 FIT Files and Fitness Data You Choose to Open
When you choose a FIT file, the App reads and processes that file locally on your device to display activity summaries, routes, charts, laps, diagnostics, exports, and, where applicable, repair results. This local data may include:
FIT file contents and display name; GPS route coordinates; heart rate, power, cadence, speed, distance, time, laps, and other fitness records; and file integrity, decoding, and repair results.
We do not upload this FIT content, GPS route data, heart-rate data, or other health and fitness data to our servers. We do not send it to Google AdMob for advertising, audience targeting, or analytics.
2.2 Information Stored Locally
To provide the Recent Activities feature, the App stores the content URI and display name of recently opened files locally on your device. You can remove these references through Settings → Clear recent file references.
Repaired FIT files and exported GPX or CSV files are saved only to the Android system location you choose. Uninstalling the App removes its private cache and preferences, but does not delete your original FIT files or files you chose to save to a device or cloud-storage location.
2.3 Advertising Information for Free Users
Free users may see App Open, banner, or interstitial ads provided by Google AdMob. To provide advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and related services, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and its advertising partners may process information based on your region, consent status, device, and advertising settings, including:
advertising identifiers and other device identifiers; IP address, network information, and technical device information; ad impressions, clicks, and App interaction information; and information related to ad delivery, diagnostics, fraud prevention, and performance.
The App does not include FIT file names, FIT contents, GPS coordinates, heart rate, power, cadence, activity type, activity time, repair results, or other health and fitness data in ad requests. It does not use this information to set ad keywords, custom audiences, or other advertising-targeting parameters.
After Google Play confirms a Lifetime Pro entitlement, the user will not see the App’s App Open, banner, or interstitial ads.
2.4 Privacy Choices and Consent
Before requesting ads, the App uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to update consent information and, when required, show a consent form. If UMP requires a privacy choices entry point, you can review or change available choices through Settings → Privacy Choices.
You can also manage or reset your advertising identifier through Android system settings. Available choices and ad-personalization controls may vary by region.
2.5 Map Service
When you open a route map, the App requests map styles, fonts, and visible-area map tiles from OpenFreeMap. These requests may allow OpenFreeMap and its network providers to receive an IP address, request time, device or network technical information, and tile requests related to the visible map area.
The App does not upload FIT file bytes, heart-rate data, laps, repair results, or complete fitness records to OpenFreeMap. Routes are drawn on the device using coordinates already present in the selected FIT file.

2.6 Google Play Payments
If you purchase Lifetime Pro, payment is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card, payment account, or complete payment credentials. Through Google Play Billing, the App receives purchase status, product identifiers, and the purchase token needed to confirm purchases in order to verify and restore your Lifetime Pro entitlement.

- How We Use Information
We use local FIT data only to provide the on-device viewing, diagnostics, repair, export, and recent-file features you request. We do not operate an App backend that receives FIT or fitness data, we do not create App user accounts, and we do not use FIT or health data for advertising.
The following third-party services process necessary information only when their associated feature is used:
Google AdMob / UMP: ad delivery, advertising privacy choices, measurement, fraud prevention, and related services, for Free users and only where permitted by applicable consent or another lawful basis. OpenFreeMap: map styles and visible-area map tiles for the Route screen. Google Play Billing: Lifetime Pro purchase, confirmation, and restoration.
We do not sell your FIT, health, or fitness data.
- Sharing and International Processing
Except for the third-party services described in this policy, we do not sell or disclose your FIT files or fitness data to third parties. When you use advertising, map, or Google Play features, related technical information may be processed by the applicable service provider outside your country or region. That processing is governed by the provider’s own terms, privacy policy, and applicable law.
- Data Retention and Security
FIT data remains in memory only for the time needed to perform the local operation you request. The App persistently stores only recent-file references until you clear them or uninstall the App. We use Android app sandboxing, the system document picker, and HTTPS connections to reduce unnecessary data access and transfer risks.
No security measure can guarantee absolute security. Do not import or export files that you do not want stored on your device or chosen storage location.
- Your Choices and Rights
Depending on the law where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, object to processing of, port, or withdraw consent for your information. Because the App does not maintain a FIT-data server or user accounts, most local data controls are available directly on your device:
delete original or exported files; clear recent-file references in the App settings; manage available Privacy Choices in Settings; manage advertising identifiers and ad-personalization settings through Android; and uninstall the App to remove its private App data.

- Children’s Privacy
The App is not designed for children and should not be used by children below the digital age of consent in their jurisdiction without a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect FIT or health data from children through the App.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when App features, third-party SDKs, data practices, or applicable laws change. The updated version will be published at the public Privacy Policy URL and will show a new “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes.

Pre-publication checklist (not part of the public policy text)
- Confirm that the public HTTPS Privacy Policy URL is accessible.
- Add the final policy link to both the Google Play store listing and the App’s Settings screen.
- Complete the Google Play Data Safety form based on the final release merged manifest, enabled AdMob settings, and any mediation SDKs.
- Configure applicable Privacy & messaging messages in AdMob and verify Settings → Privacy Choices.
- Update this policy and Data Safety declarations before adding accounts, analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, ad mediation, Health Connect, or any additional third-party SDK.
