Privacy Policy for DAT File Opener

Effective Date: September 3, 2026

coobbi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops and provides DAT File Opener (the “App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.

1. Information Processed Locally

DAT File Opener is designed to open, detect, preview, and extract files that you actively select on your device.

When you select a file or folder, the App may process the following information locally on your device:

- File content;
- File name, size, and detected type;
- File URI or access path;
- File opening time;
- Recently opened file records;
- App settings, such as the warning preference for non-DAT files.

This information is used only to provide file opening, preview, scanning, extraction, recent-file, and app-settings functionality.

Except as described in the Advertising Services section below, we do not upload the contents of files you select, file names, file URIs, recent-file records, or extracted files to our own servers.

2. File Access and Storage

The App accesses files and folders only after you actively select them through the Android system file picker.

If you use the extraction feature, extracted files are saved to the destination folder you choose. These files remain on your device until you delete them using your file manager or, where applicable, the App’s cleanup feature.

Recent-file records are stored locally on your device. You can clear recent-file records within the App. Uninstalling the App generally removes App-private settings and records, but it does not automatically remove files saved to a folder that you selected outside the App’s private storage.

3. Advertising Services and Third-Party Data Processing

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements, including banner and app-open advertisements.

To provide advertising, measure advertising performance, conduct analytics, and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share:

- IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of a device;
- Advertising ID, App Set ID, and other device or account-related identifiers;
- App interaction information, such as app launches, taps, and ad interactions;
- Diagnostic information, such as App or SDK performance, launch time, hang rate, and energy usage.

This information is processed by Google and its advertising service providers in accordance with their applicable privacy policies. Google Mobile Ads SDK uses TLS encryption for data transmitted in transit.

Google Privacy Policy:

You may reset or delete your Advertising ID and manage personalized advertising settings through your Android device settings. Users in certain regions may also manage consent choices through Google’s privacy options.

4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The App does not provide account registration or login functionality.

We do not intentionally collect your name, phone number, email address, contacts, messages, precise location, photos, audio, video, or payment information.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share the contents of files you select or your local recent-file records with third parties. Information processed by Google Mobile Ads SDK may be shared with Google and advertising-related service providers as described in the Advertising Services section.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. File processing primarily occurs on your device. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not designed for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Choices and Data Deletion

You can:

- Clear recent-file records within the App;
- Use the App’s cleanup feature to remove applicable extracted files;
- Delete extracted files from your chosen folder using your device file manager;
- Uninstall the App to remove App-private local data;
- Manage or reset your Advertising ID through Android device settings.

If you have questions about privacy or data handling, please contact us using the information below.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
