Nav Sidebar cannot be collapsed on Mobile

On mobile, the sidebar stays in view without a collapse button available which causes the main content pages to be pushed out of view.

Ex. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (in HD+ resolution of 1560 x 720):

Thanks for the report @thadguidry, and for the screenshot — it made this unambiguous.

This is fixed. The docs layout now hides the sidebar below the md breakpoint and gives mobile a collapsible disclosure instead, landed in documentdb/documentdb.github.io#120 (30266dc, 30 July) — a month after you filed this, so your report predates the fix rather than the other way round.

Verified against the live site just now, rendering documentdb.io/docs/getting-started/mongo-shell-quickstart/ at a 408 px viewport:

So the sidebar is gone at phone widths, the content takes the full width, and the section navigation is a collapsed disclosure you tap to open.

One caveat worth stating plainly: that is a 408 px CSS viewport in desktop Chrome, not a Galaxy S25 Ultra. It confirms the CSS breakpoint behaves correctly; it does not prove your specific device renders the same. If you still see the sidebar pinned open on the S25 Ultra, please say so and I will reopen — a real-device report beats my emulation.

One note for next time, and this is on us for being confusing rather than on you: this repository holds the Markdown content, but the layout that renders it — sidebar, breakpoints, navigation chrome — lives in documentdb/documentdb.github.io. Anything about how documentdb.io looks or behaves is best filed there; anything about what a page says belongs here. The boundary is invisible from the browser, so it is an easy and reasonable mistake to make.
