PlayControl - how can I start the play for a special mp3 - file?

I will start a speciall mp3 from the medie server if someone presses the door bell :)

Can you help me finding a node to do so?

afaik the radio does not accept direct paths. You have to navigate to the file, to play it.

netRemote.sys.caps.validModes
netRemote.sys.mode = Mode ID for Music Archive
netRemote.nav.state = 1
netRemote.nav.list
netRemote.nav.action.navigate = Folder ID
netRemote.nav.action.navigate = SubFolder ID
netRemote.nav.action.selectItem = File ID

If the structure changes, this will break. Maybe you could try playing it via DLNA.

I tried your mentioned steps. It helps a lot so far. Unfortunately
http://[ip]:80/fsapi/LIST_GET_NEXT/netRemote.nav.list/-1?pin=1234&maxItems=10
responded with a statuscode 200, but with a status-array with "FS_FAIL" inside.

Do you have some further hints for me😊?

Thank you so much for your effort. I invested further trys in your first approach with a bit success. I can navigate through the the menu structure now, but at the end when I try to start playing with netRemote.play.control&value=1 the mp3 doesn't start playing.
Sorry, but I'm not able to follow your second approach.

@ol65 please post the output of netRemote.nav.list on the level where you tried to run netRemote.nav.action.selectItem.

You have to pass the the correct Item ID AS value to the function netRemote.nav.action.selectItem.

You can't run netRemote.play.control on the File. This only Changes the play state e.g. playing, paused...

@flammy Yes - now it works 😊! netRemote.nav.action.selectItem was the key.

Now I just need to automate the sequence so that the bell sound plays when someone presses the button.
