MIDI Amp Control not switching midi presets during a song

While I am able to go to the plugin page for MIDI Amp Control, search for a song and configure/test the MIDI commands for the different song sections on the plugin page, those MIDI changes are not triggered during an actual playthrough.

After a bit of fiddling around it seems that when you go to the midi amp control plugin a few seconds after Feedback has been started and select the midi adapter again from the dropdown, even it is already selected, then the amp switching will usually work on the first song being played.
