What to build

Make intended colour the single source of truth for planned appearance and physical pen-pass membership. Users can assign colours to artwork components, and matching colours produce one pass without losing component identity.

Acceptance criteria

• Motif, tile-type outlines, and tile-type plot fills have configurable intended colours.
• Paths with the same normalized intended colour belong to one pen pass even when they originate from different components.
• Component identity remains available as metadata after colour grouping.
• Preview data and pen-pass data use the same intended-colour values rather than separate hard-coded palettes.
• One active pen profile supplies physical pen characteristics to all colour passes.
• Changing source tilings resets tile-type treatments and intended colours to defaults.
• Changing source tilings preserves paper, active pen, motif, preview-mode, scale, and plot-order settings.
