FORCE_HTTPS=true is not working

I'm running Koel with FORCE_HTTPS=true set in my .env but can still reach the WebUI through http://(localip):(port).

When I try to reach it through my reverse proxy (nginx) i get:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://<url>' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure manifest 'http://<url>/manifest.json'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

I also had this error and I found a solution. My koel/docker instance is inside a local server machine not accessible from the Internet, so I used the Cloudflare’s tunnel to reach the instance through a domain name i own. The koel instance sit behind the reverse proxy Nginx Proxy Manager.

My Koel’s docker-compose.yml

services:
    koel:
    ports:
   	    - 80:80 # The left port number is the port exposed by Docker.
    environment:
  	    - APP_URL="https://sub.domain.xyz"

My Koel’s .env file contains:

APP_URL=https://sub.domain.xyz
FORCE_HTTPS=true

In Nginx Proxy Manager web UI I set

• Domain Names: sub.domain.xyz
• Scheme: https
• Forward Hostname / IP: 192.168.1.x (my local fixed IP where the Koel instance reside)
• Forward Port: 80 (the exposed port by Docker)

My nginx site .conf file contains:

server {
	proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https;
	proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Host $host;
}

These last things was set inside the Nginx Proxy Manager web UI, clicking on the Settings gear icon.

My Cloudflare’s tunnel routes the requests for sub.domain.xyz to localhost:<exposed-docker-port> with protocol HTTP.

Remeber to clear config and cache inside the Koel instance and restart Nginx Proxy Manager, or whatever the proxy you chose.
