Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When multiple switches control the same room or area, the same button actions currently have to be configured separately for every switch.
For example, I have two switches in the hallway. Both should use the same actions for their four buttons. At the moment, I have to create and maintain the same configuration twice. Any later change also has to be repeated for every switch, which is time-consuming and can easily lead to inconsistent configurations.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to be able to create switch groups.
A group could contain multiple switches, for example:
- Group: Hallway
- Switch 1: Front hallway switch
- Switch 2: Rear hallway switch
The button actions would then be configured once for the group. All switches inside the group would use the same configuration.
This would allow me to edit the four button actions only once instead of configuring every switch individually.
Ideally, the group could be managed similarly to a normal switch configuration, with switches being added to or removed from the group as needed.
Describe alternatives you've considered
The current alternative is to duplicate the same button configuration for every switch.
This works, but it creates unnecessary duplicate configurations. Changes must be applied manually to every switch, and configurations can become inconsistent over time.
Additional context
My specific use case is a hallway with two switches that should perform exactly the same actions. Both switches have the same four button functions, so maintaining two separate configurations provides no benefit.
A grouping feature would also be useful for rooms with multiple entrances or multiple identical switches controlling the same devices.
