Hi @S-Surya , I'm not familiar with that workflow.
I usually submit a PR with the issue referenced in the commit message.
When it is merged to the master, the issue gets closed automatically I believe.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Feel free to submit a PR implementing the feature.
