Could Local Storage could be an option for state - like showing/hiding the sidebar?
That way, when we refresh or the browser hot reloads when changes are made, the state is preserved and the UI doesn't jump/
I know we could also use --unified if using from the cli, but we could store this default in local storage also and, if changed, it would persist that preference for when the browser refreshes.
