Impact of Home assistant 2026.9 modernizing-modbus

In the release 2026.9 they mention modernizing the modbus. Does this have any direct impact on this integration or is this only an improvement which this integration could use in the future?

Most important question is can we update to the latest version or does this integration need to be updated first?

So far I do not see any issues. The approach they are choosing I already chose (using a dedicated python library). I see no reason yet why they cannot co-exist. When the new HA is there I will do some testing.
