Hi all, @jamesdabbs is working on an update to the web app which will be used by both the existing topology database and a new graph theory database:

• https://topology.pi-base.workers.dev/
• https://graphs.pi-base.workers.dev/ (populated by https://github.com/pi-base/data-graphs)

As you can see, the changes on the topology end aren't drastic. Nonetheless, I thought it would be good to have this community put its eyes on the new topology site before we move over, so please take a chance to use it during your next search/contribution/review. If you see anything that needs attention, you can report it here or at https://github.com/pi-base/web/issues

Oh, it's set to private. I didn't mean to do that, but let me check with @katjabercic to make sure she didn't change it to private on purpose before I make it public.

I've said this before and it is of course purely your decision, but renaming (or i guess specialising) the pi base website 12 years into its existence makes backward referencing much more awkward. We have countless posts (and some tools) explicitly saying "pi base" for topology (where the name also comes from).

Of course it is great to see the model applied to other areas, but I would really think seriously about the fact if "pi base: topology" and "pi base: graph theory" are good names.
Why not Graph-base or something? That would also sound a lot smoother in my opinion, saying "pi base for graph theory" or "pi base for topology" is a bit awkward maybe.

At the very least the current (old) url should stay to not break all references.

I did not change it to private, or at least not intentionally :). I'll go ahead and make it public.

Yeah, absolutely. To be clear: we always intend to preserve backwards compatibility of existing links. That new URL is a mostly-ignorable implementation detail – right now, https://topology.pi-base.org points to https://topology.pi-base.pages.dev under the hood, and we're working on moving from pages.dev to workers.dev transparently to end users. It's just that the workers instance is up now, for anyone who really wants to help validate that before we repoint the domain.

(Your points about naming are fair; naming things is hard.)
