Error: Unknown Puppet subcommand 'strings'

Describe the Bug

I have installed puppet and puppet-strings with gem

But it is not have strings subcommand in puppet

Environment

• Gem [v. 3.5.6]
• Ruby [v. 3.1.4p223]
• rvm [v. 1.29.12]
• Puppet [v. 8.5.0]
• Platform [Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS]

I can confirm, same problem:

To add here: the problem only seems to occur when not using the system ruby. Executing rvm use system, installing the required gems and then executing puppet strings does work.

I happen to see this as well with puppet-strings-4.1.3 installed but have not tried the rvm trick as rvm isn't installed (yet).
My ruby version is old (2.5.9) but same error with strings. Strings was installed as root, and permissions are fine.

UPDATE: Indeed this is a problem with permissions on gems directories, or at least in my case. the rgen and yard gem dirs both needed a+rx for strings to function. Hope this helps.
