everytime i open the xaeros worldmap in a place where theres alot of chunks that i loaded my ram increases by like 300mb and when i close the map it decreases by 200mb and that 100mb keeps stacking up everytime i open the worldmap and close it , in my instance where im spiraling it got to 7gb ram and another where im just flying normally with not many chunks around it was normal at 2gb but does occur in low numbers like 30 mb everytime i open the worldmap.

you have not provided a log for me to check, so make sure you're on the latest versions of xaero mods.

also, if you are checking ram usage via task manager you are not getting the full picture

java will happily consume all available memory it is allocated, regardless of if it is actually using it. you can influence how much it is allocated with the -Xmx jvm argument (-Xmx4G for example is 4 gb).

if it truly is using all allocated ram, your game would crash. that is the only situation to be concerned about. if you've allocated something reasonable like 4g and your game isn't crashing there is no issue.

and yes i was keeping up with task manager but my game did crash once saying you ran out of memory alocate more memory when it shouldve been fine

i am not seeing any ram leak or excessive usage in my own testing.

could also be another mod. i've had other users with high mem usage think it was xaeroplus but it turned out to actually be baritone.

the only way for us to find what is actually using the memory is with a heap dump. which i can open in a program that lets me see exactly where all the memory is allocated.

you can get a heap dump one of two ways:

1. download spark: https://modrinth.com/mod/spark then you can run /sparkc heapdump. you would need to do this after you feel the memory usage has become excessive, (it will only dump what is actively present)
2. -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError jvm arg which will write a dump (.hprof file in your .minecraft folder) when your game crashes from no memory
