Error when trying to import timeline.json

when trying to import timeline.json exported from my android phone thru the Settings->Location->Location Services->Timeline->Export Timeline Data. I get the error message: Invalid data: must contain 'timelineObjects' array. I tried in Chome and Firefox, both give the same error.

Unfortunately Google changed their file format and I have not had time to update the app to support this. I think some other developers were working on a fix but I have not seen it.
