Survey map doesn't change to set extent when going between map-based pages

If a survey progresses from one page with a map-based layout to another with a different map extent set, the extent won't change without refreshing the page. The extent will change properly when progressing from a non-map page to one with a map. Additionally, this isn't the case for pages with drawing elements - only non-spatial elements with an accompanying map.
