Ambiguity Plots #2

Description

@pu1ogr

The correct presentation of ambiguity is not a circle if precision is interpreted in the proposed way. The correct representation would be an oval.

However, considering the notation method, by omitting a digit, the square presentation is adequate since the position might be near the corner delimited by the coordinates (like a Maidenhead grid: the point is within the square, but its exact location within those boundaries cannot be ascertained).

If the intention is to annotate that the position is imprecise (due to GPS precision, triangulation, astronomical acquisition, etc.), I propose the following method:

  1. The position is sent without ambiguity to the full capacity of the acquisition method, padding with zeros beyond its capability if needed.
  2. Include a comment field with a format to be determined to indicate the estimated lack of precision (maybe P?DD.MM.SS or P?[length]m).
