Financial inclusion, Web3 education, and reforestation built openly, in Haiti, for Haiti.

CeloHT is a Haitian-led, open-source, community-governed initiative founded in Léogâne, Haiti. We build tools, education, and local support so that financial access doesn't depend on distance from a bank branch and we do it without a token, without an investment pitch, and without pretending environmental cost is someone else's problem.
We are not a blockchain, not a cryptocurrency, not an ICO, and not an investment platform. We build on the Celo ecosystem using cUSD for payments and CELO for network fees, the way any organization builds on infrastructure it doesn't own or control.

To expand financial inclusion through education, a decentralized network of community agents, and environmental reforestation, built on the Celo ecosystem as our technical foundation.
A Haiti and over time, a wider Caribbean where distance from a bank no longer determines whether someone can save, transact, or transfer money safely; where mobile financial tools are used with genuine understanding; and where the pursuit of financial access doesn't come at the expense of the land communities depend on.

CeloHT is governed through a Foundation Director, a Maintainer Council, and Community Contributors not a single founder, and not token-weighted voting. Full detail: GOVERNANCE.md.
Every CeloHT repository operates under the same Code of Conduct. We're especially committed to being welcoming to first-time open-source contributors and non-English speakers.
If you see the CeloHT name attached to a token, a presale, or an investment offer anywhere — it's fraudulent. We have none of those, on principle, permanently. See our No-Token Policy and report misuse to security@celoht.com.
