A corrupted or settings incompatible save crashed on a garbage object id, hung forever on a failed stream, or crashed in the serializer dtor deleting live engine objects during unwinding. Bounds check the references, verify the stored class, stop on stream failure, leak instead of delete on the error path and skip the teardown of a sim that never finished loading
