A small workspace repo for building a next-gen “memory galaxy” experience:
- Desktop: a force-directed 3D graph (inspired by ATLAS Galaxy).
- XR (Quest): an Iron-Man-style spatial UI using WebXR (no cyberpunk theme) where you can move around, point/select nodes, and later use hand tracking.
memory-galaxy/— Vite + React app.- Desktop galaxy view + import JSON.
- XR mode (WebXR): Enter VR, locomotion + selection + HUD panel.
atlas-galaxy-flat/— reference snapshot of the original ATLAS Galaxy-related files we extracted (for inspiration / porting patterns).
cd memory-galaxy
npm install
npm run dev- Make sure Quest and this PC are on the same Wi‑Fi.
- Start dev server:
cd memory-galaxy
npm run dev -- --host- In Quest Oculus Browser, open the HTTPS URL Vite prints (you may need to accept a warning for the dev certificate).
- Click XR then Enter VR.
- Left stick: move
- Right stick: turn
- Trigger / pinch: select a node
- Trigger / pinch on floor: teleport
- Squeeze: clear selection
The import expects the same shape as an ATLAS-style graph response:
{
"nodes": [{ "id": "...", "title": "...", "summary": null, "type": { "code": "memory", "label": "Memory" }, "createdById": "u1" }],
"links": [{ "sourceId": "...", "targetId": "..." }]
}- True “grab + pull” interactions (hand tracking): pinch to grab nodes and bring them closer
- Wrist/helmet HUD menu (Iron-Man vibe): search, filters, clustering, quick actions
- XR force layout or clustering-by-type (“Memory / Insight / Action” regions)
- Multi-user (later): shared sessions with presence
- Export: capture screenshots / video clips / shareable state
This repo intentionally avoids committing node_modules/ and build outputs.
