Synchronize release metadata to v1.8.1/code41 while retaining the fully unlocked MIT edition without Ads, Billing or Premium. Public functional code is unchanged from v1.8.0; all existing reliability and performance fixes remain. The separately maintained Play edition adds subscription-management access and is not part of this source checkout. Verification: public JVM suite and release lint passed locally; the signed artifact gate is running. Required CI must pass before merge. No new dependency or permission was added.
