Recently did the Shaman 1.0 epic and found out the faction required for the final boss ends up being short of what you require to properly do it.
This then requires you to farm tiny gems to bring your faction up to the required levels.
I adjusted the faction rewards to be what I think is the proper levels now.
This does not stop people from cheesing this quest and farming tiny gems, just allows you to do the intended quest without it.

The Spirit in the middle of emerald jungle will also take the three books and tell you the same information as the one at the lake
