AVIs not playing natively

What happened?

When I play AVI files on my Nvidia Shield TV pro, the video plays at 3x (with no sound), and once completed, the audio plays at normal speed with a black screen.
When I turned off AVI in device settings, the video plays fine(transcoding).

Steps to reproduce

1. Run device setup and AVI container is automatically set to native 'on'
2. Play AVI file on nVidia shield pro
3. Watch strange playback behavior

• I'm on the latest version I can install for my platform (or noted why not above).

Looking into this, could be another quirk of the Nvidia Shield. I will test AVI on multiple Android TV devices and see if they have the same issue. If it is shield specific I may just turn AVI off so it always transcodes it no matter what. Is plex able to play those AVI items without issue?

you might be right....just tested with androidTV using Onn device and the avi file played fine.
Depending on the client, Plex plays the same AVI files directly with no issue.
