Fire TV Gen 3: app crashes on the 8K clips during the initial capability diagnostic

What happened?

Right after linking the app to my server for the first time, it runs the capability diagnostic automatically. It gets through most of the clips fine, but crashes unexpectedly partway through the 8K ones — the app just closes and drops back to the Fire TV home screen. Doesn't seem to matter which 8K clip it's on, just that it's in that part of the test. There's no error message on screen, it just exits.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install the app on a Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen)
2. Connect it to the server for the first time
3. Let the capability diagnostic run
4. App crashes once it reaches the 8K test clips

Logs / error output

No logs accessible on this device (native TV app). Symptom is a silent crash to the Fire TV home screen, no error dialog shown, happens specifically during the 8K portion of the 49-clip diagnostic.

I have only been able to test on a Fire Stick 4k Max, is this the 1080p version of the Fire Stick? I can make it detect the version of the stick and skip those tests.

Honestly, I tested the Gen3 because I couldn't get my hands on the 4K Max Gen1 at the time. Found one since then, and that model runs the tests fine like you said — marks the 8K tests as unsupported and the app starts up normally.

The Gen3 is probably just old at this point, but it can likely still handle video under 4K without much trouble, so I'd guess it'd work fine once the 8K tests are skipped for it too. That said, it might just be too old a model to keep supporting — up to you. Thanks for looking into it!
