SimplStreamTV isn't on the Google Play Store or Amazon App Store (yet), so you'll need to sideload it. Don't worry — it's easy, takes about 5 minutes, and you only have to do it once.
This is the easiest way if you have an Amazon Fire Stick, Fire TV Cube, or any Fire TV device.
Step 1: Enable Unknown Sources
- Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options
- Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources
- If you don't see Developer Options, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About → click Build Number 7 times to unlock it
Step 2: Install the Downloader App
- Open the Amazon App Store on your Fire TV
- Search for "Downloader" (by AFTVnews — it's the orange icon)
- Install it — it's free
Step 3: Download SimplStreamTV
- Open Downloader
- In the URL field, type the download link from our Releases Page
- It will download the APK automatically
- When it's done, click Install
- Done! SimplStreamTV will appear in your Apps list 🎉
Works on any Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, etc.
Step 1: Enable Unknown Sources
- Go to Settings → Apps → Security & Restrictions
- Turn on Unknown Sources for your file manager
Step 2: Get the APK
- On your phone, download the APK from our Releases Page
- Install "Send Files to TV" on both your phone and your TV (it's free on the Play Store)
- Open the app on both devices — make sure they're on the same WiFi
- On your phone, tap Send and select the SimplStreamTV APK
- On your TV, it'll appear automatically — click to install
If you're comfortable with a command line:
# Connect to your TV (replace with your TV's IP address)
adb connect 192.168.1.XXX:5555
# Install the APK
adb install SimplStreamTV_v4.0.apkFind your TV's IP address in Settings → Network → About or Status.
When a new version comes out, just repeat the same process — download the new APK and install it. It'll update in place without losing your profiles or watchlist.
