TamersArchiver's ThreadArchiver

ThreadArchiver is a private, local Windows application for saving, monitoring, viewing, organizing, and exporting imageboard threads.

The application is independent and unofficial. It is not developed, sponsored, approved, endorsed, or operated by 4chan, 4channel, their operators, or any supported imageboard or archive service.

This repository distributes compiled releases and documentation. The application's proprietary source code is not published here.

Windows may display an unknown-publisher warning on unsigned preview releases. Only download ThreadArchiver from this official repository.

• Advanced Search

  • Search across archived threads by post text, subject, poster name, tripcode, unique ID, filename, file hash, post number, or date range.
  • Restrict searches to selected archived boards.
  • Search only posts with images, without images, or imported ghost posts.
  • Drag and drop an image into file-hash search to calculate its searchable hash.
  • Use optional whole-word matching.

• Alerts and Monitoring

  • Receive alerts when chosen words or phrases appear in new posts.
  • Receive warnings when a thread approaches its board's bump limit.
  • Detect image limits and threads falling near the bottom of a board catalog.
  • Choose how low a thread may fall in the catalog before an alert appears.
  • Start ThreadArchiver with Windows so monitoring resumes after sign-in.
  • Keep monitoring active from the Windows system tray after closing the dashboard.

• Storage and Backups

  • Choose any local drive or folder for the main archive library.
  • Move an existing archive library without deleting the previous copy.
  • Create scheduled incremental backups that copy only new or changed archives.
  • Give each backup location its own schedule.
  • Back up every board or only selected boards.
  • Check archived media and retry attachments that are genuinely missing.

• Exporting and Sharing

  • Export an archived thread as a complete ZIP archive.
  • Export a self-contained HTML file that can be opened without ThreadArchiver.

Pro licenses work entirely offline, never expire, have no activation limit, and may be reused on any number of devices personally owned or controlled by the named license holder. Pro includes future updates released for as long as TamersArchiver chooses to support the program.

Getting started

1. Download the latest executable from Releases.
2. Place it in a folder where it can remain permanently.
3. Open the program and paste a supported thread URL.
4. Choose the main archive folder under Storage & Backups.
5. Optionally configure at least one backup destination.
6. Optionally enable Start with Windows so monitoring resumes after sign-in.

Closing the dashboard keeps ThreadArchiver running in the Windows system tray. Use the tray menu to reopen or quit it completely.

Updates

New versions are published through GitHub Releases. Each public release should include release notes and a SHA-256 checksum.

When update checking is available and enabled, the application connects to this GitHub repository only to compare release versions and obtain the selected release. Update checks do not send archive or usage information.

Privacy

No telemetry or analytics are collected whatsoever.

ThreadArchiver does not send usage activity, archive contents, searches, tags, notes, license keys, storage locations, or personal information to TamersArchiver. It connects only to thread and archive sources requested or enabled by the user, plus GitHub solely for release update checks.

Data and backups

Archives and application settings are stored locally. Users choose where the main archive library and backup copies are kept. Removing the application does not intentionally delete the user's archive library.

Backups are strongly recommended. Availability of media on third-party services cannot be guaranteed after it has been deleted from its original source.

This is proprietary commercial software, not an open-source project.

The Free and Pro editions are governed by LICENSE.txt. Third-party components remain governed by their respective licenses included with the application.
