This is a custom keyboard layout which lets you enter text in a number of Cyrillic alphabet-based languages: Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Rusyn, Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian and Macedonian.

The layout also includes a number of miscellaneous characters (mostly punctuation and math).

The layout is designed for the Russian keyboard, which includes all the same characters on the same key caps as the US English keyboard in addition to the Russian characters. This makes it easy to locate and enter those Cyrillic letters that have the same appearance as some Latin letters (e.g. і, ј, ѕ).

The additional characters are entered by holding AltGr (Right Alt) and pressing one of the alpha-numeric keys. For example, hold AltGr and press the key that has ] ъ on it to get ]. If you hold AltGr and a Shift and press the same ] ъ key, you'll get }. Similarly, you can use AltGr (and possibly a Shift) and the key with e у on it to enter ў (or Ў).

From the included Russian.klc file you can make an installable keyboard layout for Windows using Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4. If you do this yourself, you may need to go to Windows Features and turn on .NET Framework 3.5 before the layout creator can run.

Alternatively, prebuilt installation files for Microsoft Windows may be available under releases.
