Project Colossus

An autonomous platform for discovering every publicly accessible software API and transforming it into a complete, production-grade developer ecosystem.

License: Apache-2.0 Architecture ADR

Mission

Build an autonomous platform capable of discovering every publicly accessible software API and transforming it into a complete developer ecosystem.

For every API discovered, Colossus automatically generates:

  • Production SDKs
  • Type-safe clients
  • Documentation
  • Unit tests
  • Integration tests
  • Mock servers
  • CLI tools
  • Example applications
  • Tutorials
  • API references
  • Changelogs
  • Release notes
  • Version migration guides
  • Security reports
  • Performance benchmarks

The generated artifacts remain synchronized with upstream API changes forever.

Long-Term Target

5,000,000,000 lines of useful, working, maintainable code.

Not duplicated. Not filler. Not intentionally inflated. Every line exists because it provides value.

Scale Assumptions

Dimension Scale
APIs 20,000+
Protocol Variations 100+
Programming Languages 10+
Generated Files Millions
Releases Hundreds of thousands
Concurrent Workers Thousands
Contributors Thousands
Generated Artifacts Petabytes
Maintenance Horizon Decades

Architectural Principles

  1. Independently Deployable — Every subsystem is a separate deployable unit.
  2. Horizontally Scalable — Every subsystem scales by adding nodes.
  3. Observable — Every action, state transition, and failure is observable.
  4. Replaceable — Every component can be replaced without system-wide disruption.
  5. Clean Interfaces — All inter-service communication uses well-defined contracts.
  6. Deterministic — Operations are reproducible given the same inputs.
  7. Distributed by Default — Prefer distributed services over monoliths.
  8. Event-Driven — Prefer event-driven architecture over synchronous coupling.

Project Colossus is designed to operate for decades. Every decision is made with that horizon in mind.

About

Project Colossus is a distributed, event-driven autonomous platform that discovers every publicly accessible software API and transforms it into a complete, continuously synchronized developer ecosystem generating production-grade SDKs, documentation, tests, and tooling across 10+ programming languages at planetary scale, targeting 5 billion lines
