Superseded by #63, which took typescript 7.0.2 on main.

Worth recording why the version bump alone was not enough: TypeScript 7 removed moduleResolution: node and ships no compiler API, so #63 also had to move tsconfig to nodenext, add @typescript/typescript6 for rollup-plugin-dts declaration bundling, and fix two removed flags in scripts/check-dist-types.mjs. Merging this PR on its own would have broken the build.
