• local-first: done for collaborative content and per-resource metadata. isHydrated in use-collaborative-doc.ts (no editor binds to a replica whose contents we were never told), collab/empty-document.ts (shared empty root), the room store in collab/room-store.ts + use-room-cached.ts (metadata cached in the room's own IndexedDB database, isLive gating every control that would mutate). Case matrix in lib/collab/empty-document.test.ts.

  • the sidebar and every list page still need Convex, so offline the only reachable resources are ones already open or reachable by URL. The room store can't help — it is per-room and these lists aren't. Needs a workspace-scoped cache plus a decision on how stale a cached tree may be. Convex still ships no local persistence for web (checked 1.44, Aug 2026); PowerSync's experimental Convex support moves authorization into Sync Streams, which conflicts with this app's two-access-rules design
  • offline mutations are not queued for resources loaded cold offline — controls are hidden rather than offered and silently dropped. A write queue is the separate, larger project if that isn't good enough
