Setup

• Execute ./install/setup.sh to install all dependencies and set up the ML models (make sure the correct lines for your OS are uncommented in the script)
  • May need to run chmod +x ./install/setup.sh to make the file executable first on a Unix-like system
• Run python app/main.py to start the GUI

See this Google Slides presentation or the PDF on this repo, presented to Northern Burlington County Regional High School's administration regarding this project. Our presentation earned us the school's commendation and backing.

A modified version of the slideshow was presented at a national TSA conference, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback and a few critiques that have helped us improve the software even further. We are already on track to expand into 6 more schools this year.

(Note: This repository contains an older, simpler version of the codebase when we primarily relied on basic prebuilt models. We've since improved significantly, using fully custom-trained models, but, for now, we have decided not to make the full ML training open source in case we decide to commercialize.)
