In my professional projects we've been running with almost all ruff rules enabled for a while now and I quite like it. However, before making the switch here and doing something similar, I want to properly swap over to pyproject.toml and replace versioneer with (likely) setuptools-scm. Just need to play around with the current options and see which one I like best.
